Community college definitely has its perks. It's cheaper than a four-year school and is often a lot closer, offering a lot of the same courses students can apply to a degree if they transfer. Hagerstown Community College definitely helps students achieve both personal and academic goals. With a wide range of both credit and non-credit courses—including "skill-building" courses for personal enrichment—there is plenty to choose from. The school offers services such as the College for Kids, Teen Parent Program, and child care in the Children's Learning Center, making it easy for Junior to get in on the experience, too, while offering Mom and Dad a break.

HCC offers such a wide variety of classes that it makes it easy to pick the courses necessary for a degree or even for personal enrichment. This helps prepare students for a future career or to succeed even more at a current one. Professors are open to questions and suggestions, offering flexibility to accommodate students' needs and, often, extra credit coursework to make up for lost participation or assignment points.  While working on group projects can sometimes be difficult (since everyone lives off campus), the school has several locations on campus where groups can meet in between classes or over lunch. New renovations are underway that will make the campus even more accessible to students and help enrich their overall experience.
