College Prowler Take
All of the administrative buildings here are very attractive and somewhat luxurious. They are supplied with sufficient air-conditioning for comfort, and there is always a renovation in progress to make appearance even better. The Scripps Howard Building is a few years old and supplied with news-broadcasting televisions and very sufficient amenities catering to the faculty and students. This building brings a very positive impression to the campus and has generated great funds for the University. The new Student Center is a great focus on campus, as well. Being a few years old, it supplies students with a place to hang out, study, get a bite to eat, exercise, play games, and offices for student organizations to meet. The campus is one of the most attractive in the nation. However, the dormitories on the campus are not as pleasing to the eye on the inside. HU takes much pride in the appearance of and structure outside of the schools and administrative buildings, but focuses less on the residence halls and gyms for the on-campus students. The dormitories are well constructed and are pretty on the outside, but the inside does not, in any way, compliment the outside. Students like the campus, but wish their primary living space could be as up-to-par as their place of learning. The same also goes for the gym facilities; students feel as though the gym is small and old, and needs to be either renovated or torn down altogether. There are also some complaints that classroom sizes are small, and there are some buildings that have yet to install air-conditioning.

Since they built the new Student...
Since they built the new Student Center, I think it brings the students closer and gives the students a place to socialize. They need to stop trying to renovate other buildings, putting new furniture and other nonsense, and just knock them down and build a new one. The gym needs help and is one of the ones I’m referring to—it needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. It also needs more doors. |

Some of the facilities are excellent, and some could use improvement. The cafeteria, dorms, and the workout room in the gym all suck and need a makeover. |

As far as the Student Center, it’s okay to chill for a little while waiting for the next class time. There should be a cash machine in there, though, or the restaurants should take credit and debit cards. They need to get with the program. |

I can’t complain too much about the facilities on campus. I’m in the computer lab in the library ATM a lot because I like the atmosphere. It’s quiet, but not too quiet. And if you get there at a decent hour, you have a choice of computers. There should be more in the ATM, though, because it gets crowded at night. |

I think there are enough computers...
I think there are enough computers and labs on this campus but not enough access to them. Sometimes, there’s a class in the rooms, or they seem to close too early. That’s one thing I don’t like. The gym looks like it could use some brighter colors or something. It just seems so dim and drab. Convocation is a nice facility, but how often do we go there for an event? As far as the Student Center is concerned, I used to hang out there a lot before I moved off campus. I still hang out there sometimes between classes or if I have a little bit of free time. This way, I can still feel in touch with the campus, since I’m not here as much anymore. I usually see old familiar faces in there. |
FactsWhat To Do on Campus
Between classes, one can sit down to a smoothie in the student center, have a meal from Chick-fil-A, or bowl in the bowling alley for 50 cents without leaving campus.
Favorite Things To Do
Most students hang out in the Student Center between classes where there is a Lotta Java, Chick-fil-A, Zeros, and Planet Smoothie. Students can bowl in the bowling alley for $1, work out in the fitness center, play games in the game room, or watch television in the TV room, all located in the Student Center. The Student Center is always packed, and students are almost always able to find something to buy, share a meal, or just have a conversation.
