Off-campus dining is very diverse. Hampton University is within minutes from almost every fast food or chain restaurant you can think of, such as Applebee's and Ruby Tuesday. And let's not forget that Hampton is right at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, meaning some of the best seafood around. Eating off campus is very popular among on- and off-campus students. Because the Hampton area is primarily known for the school, and the school brings many students and visitors, many restaurants are continuing to be built. This allows for several job opportunities for the students, as well. When students are really looking to spend some cash on a really fancy dinner, there are the waterfront restaurants, and one can always hop over to Downtown Norfolk for the high-class places. But when staying in Hampton, there is a vast selection for whatever you may have a taste for, and the prices are rather reasonable. Being within minutes from some of the most popular food chains and eating spots around, off-campus dining is highly coveted by HU students.
