Hanover College "looks" like a college. The Georgian-style red brick buildings, white columns, and the verdigris, copper roofs topped with white domes make it look like a college from the set of a movie. The outdoor spaces are well maintained, and during the warmer months, bright flowers and blooming trees abound. Most of the buildings have been renovated in recent years and are decorated with pictures of events in Hanover's history, beginning in 1827 when the College was founded. The Duggan Library has three floors that contain a wide variety of reading and research materials. There are thousands of periodicals, journals, and articles on file. The Science Center contains high-quality laboratories and equipment, as well as museum-quality displays of fossils, rare rocks and minerals, and other exhibits. Classic Hall is home to the humanities departments (like English, history, philosophy, and others) and has small classrooms perfect for class discussions.
The Horner Center is the main athletic facility on campus and is up-to-date and user friendly. It features two gymnasiums, racquetball courts, an indoor track, dance and aerobics rooms, classrooms, coaches’ offices, aerobic equipment and weight lifting room, locker rooms, and athletic training rooms. The Horner Center is open to students, athletes, professors, and Hanover community members.
