Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Although there are a few off-campus dining options in Hanover, most students like to head into Madison for a bite to eat. In Hanover, there are a few popular destinations, like McDonald's, Jendy's Pizzeria, and Subway, all of which are within walking distance from campus. Downtown, locally-owned sandwich shops like the Red Pepper and the Downtowner are popular, as are other locations like Hinkle's, Shooters, and Franco's. Hinkle's in particular is a Hanover tradition, and many students go for late-night Hinkle's runs to stock up on milkshakes, home fries, and burgers.

Upper Madison has many different fast food restaurants, like Taco Bell, KFC, McDonald's, Wendy's, Sonic, and more. Harry's Stone Grill is a nice steakhouse that is great for a date or a nice dinner with your parents. Frisch’s Big Boy, Ponderosa, and Bob Evans are also good choices for family dinners. Dining in Hanover is unlike colleges in big cities because the restaurants are usually family-owned, and there are few chain restaurants.

Dining

Hanover, is basically in the middle of nowhere, so there's nothing in walking distance, you must drive. There are no discounts for students. There is no place that delivers, except for Papa Johns. There's no variety in food, it's basically the same thing, and its inexpensive. The best places to eat are the small restaurants in Madison, which is the closest town, but they're not open very late, I believe they close at 9 pm on the weekends.

Many Family Style Choices

There are many resturants near Hanover, most of the students don't really realize it though. They have to kind of know the area to really understand where all the good food is.

Off-Campus Dining

I enjoy the options we have off-campus, but a few more options would be nice.
