College Prowler Take
The safety and security of Hanover’s campus is excellent. Crimes are rarely committed here. However, since the College is in a rural community, there is the risk of being attacked because of the isolation. However, there have only been rare incidents here. Theft is not a problem, and students do not typically take things from other students here. In fact, most people leave their backpacks outside the Campus Center when they are eating, and most residents feel comfortable leaving their dorm rooms unlocked because there are locks on all the outside doors of buildings.
Any time a student has seen a strange person on campus or felt they have been followed, security takes control of the situation. There have been several times when security has asked strangers not to come on campus anymore. Everyone knows the majority of people on campus, so unfamiliar people stick out and are unwelcome if they bother students or act in a way that would create alarm. Campus security officers don’t bother the students often. In fact, many students know the officers by name. Underage drinking is the most frequent offense that campus security will ticket students for, and even then it is usually because the offender was acting out of control.
