Worst Things

  1. The campus center food can be pretty bad sometimes.
  2. Cold, snowy winters
  3. There's not really any city life to speak of.
  4. Low GPAs are pretty common; come prepared to work really hard and meet the very high expectations of the professors.
  5. Minimal course offerings—some are only offered every other year.
  6. The first-year dorms don't have air conditioning, and some of the upperclass dorms don't, either.
  7. Hanover's really small, so you know everyone and all of their business—and they know yours, too.
  8. The wireless Internet connection is fairly unreliable.
  9. Relative lack of diversity
  10. Greek life tends to dominate a lot of campus activities.

Not Much Diversity

One of the least racially diverse campuses—only 14% of students are minorities.

Very Limited.

It is impossible to live off campus unless you meet certain requirements like: Older than 25 years old, have a dependent child, fifth year student, and commuting from home. Having the possibility to live off campus is something that I really wish Hanover let us do.

Hanover

Hanover is in the middle of no where. I come from a large city and coming to Hanover has been a huge adjustment for me. Having campus isolated from the town of Hanover/Madison is pretty nice as a student because it is mostly students and faculty that are ever on campus so it's safer. If I need simple things I can usually find them in Madison but if not I have to drive about an hour to Clarksville or Louisville which is pretty hard if you don't have a car on campus.

Dining

Hanover, is basically in the middle of nowhere, so there's nothing in walking distance, you must drive. There are no discounts for students. There is no place that delivers, except for Papa Johns. There's no variety in food, it's basically the same thing, and its inexpensive. The best places to eat are the small restaurants in Madison, which is the closest town, but they're not open very late, I believe they close at 9 pm on the weekends.
