It will make you think more out of your own creativity and builds on your independency since there is not much class discussions and professors are really helpful and approachable when you are having a problems.

I think what makes my school nice is that it's a school community. Therefore, the administrators can really focus on each individual and build relationships with them. I think that's really helpful.

I like how the school will help you set up your classes that it will meet with the classes you need to be able to transfer them to another school in order to pursue a 4-year degree.
College Sophomore 2013-11-27T13:47:28Z
The school is okay. There is nothing really special in the campus and nothing really stood out from me when compared from other schools.

There is a broad student body at HACC. There is a mix of young adults and adult learners, as well as a healthy diversity.
College Junior 2013-11-07T20:53:11Z
I wouldn't change schools if I could do it again. HACC is decent for the money, and you won't be able to find a cheaper education around York.

The flexibility of classes has been mediocre at Harrisburg Area Community College, most classes that are a requirement for popular majors aren't offered enough in my opinion. You do get a fair amount for the money that you are spending here, but there can be some hidden fees for books and other class materials that are a bit of a hassle. One aspect that bugs me to no end is that some classes are only offered at a campus that can be up to a 2 hour drive one way from your local campus, and that class is a requirement of HACC's to graduate.

very easy to use. instructors still feel present.

With online, evening, and classes Saturday morning, it is easy to schedule classes around my FT work schedule.

The online course was extremely tough. It was harder than the other classes. The professor took forever to respond back.
College Sophomore 2013-03-19T03:43:10Z
It's nice to do the work on your own time. Most teachers use various ways of administrating assignments which is difficult to get used to.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Good, but a lot of paperwork. They also make it very confusing
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T19:55:29Z
Like the professors, class registration is a little complex.
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T19:54:08Z
The library is nice and has a lot of computers available to use. They also have a separate computer lab.

Due to just starting recently I have not had a chance to use this service
College Sophomore 2013-03-11T19:50:43Z
Good amount of computers and network speed is also good.

Everything I have needed has been great! I know that tutoring is something they are very organized about and I will probably be using that in the future.
College Senior 2013-02-11T02:45:07Z
I have recently switched majors to business management. I have found the professors to be highly understanding of you already having a career, life and family. That being said they do expect you to do the work but are very flexible to work with if you put the effort in.
College Senior 2013-02-11T02:42:41Z
I appreciate the diversity of people at my school. I am in classes with people from many different generations, cultures and back rounds. While there isn't much interaction outside the classroom I find everyone's life experiences pertaining to the courses very interesting and enlightening.
College Senior 2013-02-11T02:39:25Z
Part of this is just personal preference but the other part was from a bad experience. First, I prefer the classroom atmosphere, being able to interact with the teacher and other classmates one on one just works better for me. I have taken two online classes and found the grading a little curious and I had very bad technical issues with the other one and found the teacher fairly unhelpful. I ended up dropping both classes.
College Senior 2013-02-11T02:36:58Z
They offer great flexibility of classes and time and I haven't tried to transfer any credits yet so I can't judge anything in that area.

It Is Great Being Able to Print Things on Campus – The main campus is fine, but I find the auxliary buildings printing out of ink or some other problem quite frequently. Network reliability wireless or otherwise is good.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
While you can get your answers from the financial aid office in the York campus I have found them to mostly be borderline unfriendly and almost unwilling to help you, almost like you are bothering them. On the plus side, from what other friends of mine experience at other local colleges this is apparently the norm for the financial aid world.
College Senior 2013-02-11T02:31:05Z
This is a community college, that being said I don't find much in the way of campus activity but my classes are primarily in the evening. I don't know of any athletic center at my campus, I believe the one in Harrisburg, approx. a 40 min. drive has one. The library in York is ok, and I like the student center area in the Cytech building.

I Find Most People Attending School to Be Pretty Focused on Their Academics – I have only attended two classes so far but after being away from school for over 20 years I am absolutely loving it. Both of my teachers have been outstanding! So far all of my fellow students have at the very least been very courteous up to us becoming good friends. So far I am ecstatic about my college experience.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
