Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Drugs have a very small presence at Harvard. Marijuana is certainly the most prevalent, while harder drugs such as cocaine are often rumored to be the drug of choice for a small minority. However, these tend to be rumors and should not be trusted completely. The overwhelming majority of students avoids all drug use and enjoys the ability to engage in a drug-free social life.

Students also note that for those interested in drug use, there are a number of outlets, especially within the city of Boston. All in all, Harvard receives high marks for its ability to keep drug use to a minimum and facilitate an academic and social life that is not inhibited by drugs.

Not Much Said About Drugs

The College has a lot of oft-talked about policies on alcohol but drug policies are pretty much unmentioned. For example, I don't know what disciplinary consequences would result if an administrator found a student selling drugs or storing drugs in their room, and I'm a senior here. The rare wealthy student will experiment with cocaine, a normal amount of students smoke weed, and a number of students abuse study drugs like Adderrall, especially during finals.

Not a Huge Amount of Drug Use, but Drinking Is Pretty Popular

There is little drug use at Harvard, however it is common for people to drink. There is little peer pressure, though.

Not Really Popular

I never see drugs, but I think some people smoke. Drinking is way more popular.
