College Prowler Take
Drugs have a very small presence at Harvard. Marijuana is certainly the most prevalent, while harder drugs such as cocaine are often rumored to be the drug of choice for a small minority. However, these tend to be rumors and should not be trusted completely. The overwhelming majority of students avoids all drug use and enjoys the ability to engage in a drug-free social life.
Students also note that for those interested in drug use, there are a number of outlets, especially within the city of Boston. All in all, Harvard receives high marks for its ability to keep drug use to a minimum and facilitate an academic and social life that is not inhibited by drugs.

I’m sure people do drugs here, but I don’t know them. You can certainly find friends who don’t. |

Harvard certainly has its fair share of weed smokers, but it is not that prevalent. I also know that some people do cocaine and other hard drugs, but I doubt Harvard’s drug habits are that much different from any other college or university. |

People smoke a lot of weed, but still not very much compared to national or even high school scenes. Although other drugs are around, they’re not everywhere. |

Okay, let me preface this by saying that I don’t do drugs but have acquaintances who have tried various things. Pot is pretty common and not that hard to get. There is a small scene (often associated with specific finals clubs) that does ecstasy. Also, if you really want, you could find coke. But drugs are by no means a dominant scene on campus. In fact, if you weren’t interested, you wouldn’t even know they existed. People are very respectful if you don’t drink or do drugs. |
