College Prowler Take
It’s Southern California. What else is there to say! You have about two weeks at the end of winter when the rain falls. Then, it’s nothing but sunshine the rest of the year. During the summer, the heat does get unbearable once in a while, but that is what air conditioning is for. It is a desert climate, so nights can get chilly. Don’t expect to be walking around in a T-shirt all the time though. Bring some winter clothing for those chilly days.
In short, California has weather that can’t be beat. It is common to see students working outside on a beautiful and sunny day. It’s hot but not humid. The nights are cold enough to cuddle in a blanket or dance until you warm your scantily clad self up. The weather isn’t for everyone, though. If you’re from a muggy, wet area, Claremont’s dryness may get to you. And if you need rain, snow, or lightning to survive, don’t come to Mudd. If you want sun, hurry up and apply.

It’s Southern California—95 degrees outside most of the time. But it does rain for a week or two during the year, and when it does, it just doesn’t stop. |

It’s beautiful for about 70 percent of the year, but when it gets cold, it gets really cold. You need a variety of clothing, from shorts and sleeveless tops to heavy sweaters and long underwear, or maybe I’m just wimpy because I’m from Florida |

It rains for a few weeks in February, but otherwise, it is hot and sunny during the day, cool to cold at night (depending on what time of year it is)—it’s typical desert-type weather. |
