There is so much support for our athletics. There is always a nice big crowd to cheer our teams on. The pep and marching band definitely adds to the aesthetics of the games and meets. It's a hype like you've never seen.

Many people think this is a sports college

Many people think this is a sports college. In many ways this is true because a lot of students come here on scholarship to play sports, but there are a lot of us that do not play sports as well.

Pretty good variety of sports

We have a pretty good variety of sports. However, the teams can be too over competitive at times.

Most Popular Sports

You will find most students at football, basketball, and volleyball games. However, almost all of the sports on campus get a lot of attention. Sports that are less frequently attended include soccer, baseball, softball, track, cross country, and wrestling.

Most Overlooked Teams

The tennis and golf teams do well, but definitely don’t have as much attention as the other sports on campus.

School Spirit

School spirit comes and goes at Hastings College, depending on the event. If it’s a sport, school spirit depends on the quality of the team and who the opponent is. Students get pulled in different directions because they are highly involved in many activities around campus, so there can be low attendance at some events. However, there are some die-hard fans. Students generally show up for the events that really matter. You can always count on faculty, staff, and community members to have excellent school spirit.

Getting Tickets

Students have free admission to all regular season home athletic games. Tickets are available for parents and guests to purchase at the event for a small cost. Some parents and community members purchase a Crimson Connection membership for $50 which gives them admission into Hastings College athletic events, as well as to theatre productions, band concerts, and choir concerts.

Best Place to Take a Walk

Campus is a large, scenic place to walk. Heartwell Park is also near campus, with a walking/biking trail that is one mile around.

Did You Know? Courtesy of the Student Association, all Hastings College students have free membership to both of the YMCA facilities in town.
