There is an (LRC) Learning Resource Center and tutoring is available. there is the phi theta kappa club but, no student council, no social clubs, or real advocacy for students. Which is sorely needed

I have no experience to compare with but, I can honestly say that the academic flexibility is good thus far. I have heard stories that point to classes required not offered except on line. Or, externships not received in the timely manner necessary for completion before quarter end. Etc. etc.
However, as I have stated, I am a women of age and I advocate for myself and I feel that the administrations staff has come to know and respect me and they WORK at being flexible were I'm concerned. They know I won't settle for anything less, while younger students tend to give in.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
My experience has been smooth. Although they are not very forthcoming with the detaails of what is actually happening. I am almost 53 yrs. old and when I ask questions I expect to be respected enough to get clear answers.
I have heard horror stories about financial aid; have known students who had to drop out because of the lackthere of and have even been threatened by a financial aide agent that my schedule would be frozen if I didnt sign over refunds or something like that. I said FREEZE away! They have'nt yet.

While I find the insturctors to be top notch, I feel that the administration holds them and the students back for the sake of control and the almighty dollar.
There is no advocacy for students to speak of; The students advise personnel and student services are limited and in my experience as well as many other students I have spoken to, they are ineffective when it comes to what we really need and want and do not listen or share information, Although we take the LES every quarter no changes are made according to my last 2 years anyway.
However I reiterate, the instructors are excellent and I have blossomed and am an A student despite the lack of student services.

It was very different for me but I still went along with it because I knew deep in my heart that it was something that I wanted to do. So I am willing to try new things and I am better off at working at my own paste and not feel like I am in a rush to do anything so I mange my time wisely.

My school is very different from a Junior College because you get hands on training. Also being able to graduate early with your associates degree and I wont have to take classes that I don't need so I find that to be very helpful because when I started off at a junior college I knew It wasn't for me because I was taking classes that I didn't need and when I seen Heald College I knew this school was a better fit for me. Because at least I will know that I will have a career in the medical field.

The teachers are very support and I really appreciate that a lot because if I am unsure of something I can always ask them for help without being hesitant .

Its great and very helpful.

Seems like students complain about teachers a lot.

I have only been to the library to use the computer and overall experience was good.

I have only have one online course and i liked it. Seems hard at first but once you get the hang of it its not so hard. I was a bit overwhelmed first couple of weeks seemed like a lot of work. Teacher and classmates were really nice and helpful.

I have been able too get my work done a few times. A bit noisy sometimes and you have to wait a bit if you have any questions.

The campus is new and I chose this school based on the high remarks for resource.

I am currently enrolled in two classes and I'm very excited Heald has the degree course I would like. The schedule fits perfectly for my family and the location is great.

So far everything has been a wonderful experience.

I'm appalled that the online classes send your username and password through plain text emails. The website itself uses frames in its structure, so it's hard to right-click and open sections in a new tab. The ability to log in anytime is great, though, and the multiple types of assignments keep it from being too dull.

I'm a paralegal major. I'm enjoying the classes but it's hard to get in touch with my program director. She may be very accessible on campus, but since I'm an online-only student, I'm stuck with emails, and she often doesn't answer them.
College Senior 2013-04-21T00:59:32Z
I'm taking only online classes. The curriculum is good, and covers its topics well, but the format is entirely inflexible. The online school is new, and is still going through changes in structure.
College Senior 2013-04-21T00:53:30Z
I'm an online-only student. The structure of the classwork is entirely inflexible--there is no negotiating how many assignments or when they're due. However, the scheduling freedom that comes with online classes compensates for that. While assignments are due at specific times, the student sets for themselves when to work on those assignments; there's no need to be "in class" at any particular hour.
College Senior 2013-04-21T00:50:45Z
My school does not release the book lists for students until right before classes, and sometimes not until the first day of classes, so it's very hard to get books from any place other than the campus store.
However, a list of all the classes & their books is available from the business office, so students can go in & copy down theirs, and then look on Amazon and Chegg for used books.
