Hendrix College may not be for everybody, but for many students, it’s a wonderful choice. It’s a small school, which comes with both pros and cons. The downside is that there are less classes and majors to choose from, and that if you make any enemies, you probably won’t be able to avoid them until one of you graduates. The upside is that Hendrix is a tight-knit community where you’ll recognize many familiar faces on your way to and from classes, bonding over the popular annual events scattered across every students’ time at Hendrix. This community feel extends outside of the campus—alumni are friendly toward other Hendrix graduates, and even non-alumni in the Arkansas area generally have good impressions of Hendrix.

There’s always something to do at Hendrix, be it shopping at the ever-popular Walmart, taking advantage of the various off-campus dining options, seeing a movie, going to a club, or listening to a visiting lecturer. The faculty and staff are all friendly, caring, and truly devoted to helping you personally succeed at Hendrix. The food is great, with lots of options for even the pickiest eaters. The dorms can be crowded, but they’re also community-builders. Conway is a great small town, and Little Rock’s presence nearby doesn’t hurt, either, though Hendrix’s Central Arkansas location means some crazy weather and being in a dry county can be off-putting to some partiers. Public transportation may be nonexistent, but Hendrix makes it easy to have a car on campus, and many things are within walking distance anyway. When some of the biggest complaints about the school include the lack of proper drainage and the intermittent train whistles, you know you’ve got it made!

Hendrix PARTIES!

Hendrix is in he little town of Conway, AR which is in a dry county. So no bars or clubs! But there are some in the nearby cities, especially Little Rock, AR. Most of these are for those 21 and up though. Hendrix definitely makes up for their not being an active nightlife in Conway. Finding a party at school or alcohol isn't that hard to do.

Guys and Girls

Hendrix students have very diverse interests and looks. But there are a lot of attractive people here. At least half of the student body can described as hipster, but it works here. The social life is great! Finding someone to hookup with or get to know better shouldn't be that hard- if you are a guy. Hendrix has a lot of girls but the adminstration is working on bringing more guys to the school, so don't fret!

Diversity at Hendrix

Hendrix does have a lot of diversity, but you should think more along the lines of quality not quantity. Diversity among ethnic or racial lines is average, but there are a lot of different people here with different experiences, places, and backgrounds.

The overwhelming majority of students are white, but there are several international students and minority students. Hendrix is also accepting and very liberal for the most part as well as. I think most students are from the lower - upper middle class and beyond and democrats.
