Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, the HPU experience is nothing less than “extraordinary." Most students are happy to be attending such a fantastic school and are actually sad to be going home at breaks. The campus has such a welcoming atmosphere that students feel that they are at home no matter how far they have to travel to get there. Students become so involved with friends, clubs, sports, and organizations on campus that leaving all of that to go home is sad for a lot of students. When it comes to preparing students for the future, High Point gives them every opportunity, and all they have to do is take it. High Point produces well-rounded students who are prepared to enter graduate school or the job market as soon as they graduate. With a focus on a real world experience in the University's education, students leave HPU with the competence to jump into the workforce. Through internships and hands-on classroom work, students can feel confident they have the skills to succeed.

High Point is different from so many other schools because it is a small school with large-school facilities. The University has the resources of big schools, but the friendly and caring atmosphere and personal attention of a smaller institution. Professors know students by name and take an interest with what they are doing in and out of the classroom. High Point values a student's whole education, not what is just limited to the classroom. The professors and administration work on molding students not just academically, but also instilling in them a sense of generosity, self-awareness, and kindness toward their environment and fellow man.

Business School Decreasing Majors

I am an accounting major and have a wide variety of interests in the business field. The school only offers three majors within the school of business, Business Administration, International Buiness, and Accounting. There were previously many more majors offered within the school. I do not understand why they have eliminated these majors.

Accounting Majors

I love my classes. I haven't had many classes or professors yet, but from my experience so far, I can say I'm happy I declared this major. Teachers are very willing to help and available outside of the classroom.

Great Transportation Available

The school has a trolley that goesto walmart, target, and different shopping mall and dorms that are farther off campus. They are free and come pretty often. They will provide you with transportation for a doctors appointment or just about anything you need free of charge.
