they can live wherever they want

Yes, and in a lot of cases, the team lives very close to each other.

yes

No, I have never felt trapped. I feel secure. I don't have to walk to my residence hall at 1AM and worry about my safety.

I guess some do, but especially for me personally I sometimes forget there even is a gate until I have to drive off campus. I agree with the above comment though that I have never even thought twice about whether or not it's okay for me to be walking alone across campus at 3 in the morning, I ALWAYS feel safe. And besides, there's enough to do on campus that it distracts you from the fact that it's gated.

With that said, it's never been a problem or a big deal at all, so don't worry about that.

No, I feel safe. We can leave campus any time we want.

On-campus housing at High Point is incredible! All of the dorms have either been recently renovated or are brand-new. Living at High Point is unlike living in any other college dorm. The college housing is beautifully maintained, spacious, and upgraded. Even the standard dorms on campus are nicer than what most college students live in during all four years of school. All on-campus housing is extremely convenient when it comes to getting to and from classes. Since High Point is a smaller school, the longest walk you might have from your dorm to class would be about 10 minutes, walking at a leisurely pace from one side of campus to the other. The University Center is probably the most convenient location in which to live. Encased in one huge building are three different eateries, a movie theater, arcade, and a study floor. Also, since the campus is so rapidly expanding, the UC moves ever closer to becoming the actual center of campus.

If you live off campus, it is a little less convenient to get to class, but that’s only because you have to drive or take the trolley. If you live off campus, then it is beneficial to have your car at school with you so you can come and go from campus as you please. If you don’t have a car or just don’t feel like having one at school, then taking the trolley is an easy way to get where you need to go, as long as you plan ahead and check the schedule for when it’s arriving and where.
