It's frustrating that in several of my required classes, I'm learning nothing new. I'm forced to enroll in a class in which the teacher is basically reviewing what I learned in high school. This is not always the case, but has happened more than once. However, many teachers are friendly and speak to the students outside of class. All I have personally dealt with are willing to help students if they need it.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I had to visit the financial aid office several times before my verification forms were completed correctly and my aid was cleared. The staff is friendly though, and were always willing to help.

I'm majoring in music. I'm getting my gen eds out of the way, and am able to take music theory as well as some performance based classes.

I believe one thing that makes this school great is the friendly atmosphere. The teachers and faculty are always trying to help you in whatever way they can. Faculty create activities for students to do as well as resources to be successful.

I believe the career center and transfer coordinator do a good job of helping you find the school you want and how to make it to the next step. The staff is very hard working to help you achieve what you want.

I love the campus and the teachers. The classes are small which is great for me but there are not enough classes to take that I need.

Lots of diversity and opportunity for interaction.

I have had an opportunity to receive an excellent general education degree and, at the same time, work on campus in the technology department.

My anatomy teachers' lectures were worthless because there was a bad speech and language impediment on his part. I got more out of reading the text.

I have had a good experience with HCC. They have a great variety of classes and schedules.

I really like the availability of the Perry satellite campus to me.

They have just recently allowed printing without a charge at the Perry, Ks. campus.

I have had good and bad experiences with professors. I like when they are more involved with our grades and give us feedback about our assignments.

Transferring credits is also very simple. All I need to do is send in my transcript and they take care of the rest and if I need credits transferred from them they do it all through their online programs.

I love the availability to add and drop classes as I wish to, it makes things super easy and simple without me having to call someone and have them do it for me.

I am a nursing major. School is tough, but I put it first.

Finding a job where I live was not easy. So I'll just continue my education and career.

Touble with the wifi was kind of terrible so doing research or anything made it hard to complete some assignments on time. Its very stressful but things did get done.

Having a smaller class was great. I just wished the teachers could of been more helpful than having to go to a tudor to get help.

The computer network is always having problems. There's not a day that goes by where a professor doesn't excuse something being turned in late because of the network. While getting a pass like that is helpful, it's also pretty frustrating, not knowing whether your work will get there on time or not.

I was a little nervous about taking online courses, but it was pretty easy once I got used to it. Plus, it was nice not worrying about commuting, especially in the winter! I thought the workload would be easy, but it was challenging. I really learned how to manage my time well since there were no professors standing there telling me I needed to hand in my work.

I wish the professors were more involved with the students here, but understand it must be hard to have a personal relationship with us since the student body is so large. However, whenever I've gone to a teacher with a specific question, she's been more than happy to sit down with me. The major complaint I have about the school is that the class registration process is a hassle. It's all done online, but the system is super slow and I've been closed out of classes I really need."

I'm a business major, and my classes are exactly what I expected so far. I haven't had to take any crazy electives that have nothing to do with business. In fact, all of the classes I'm taking this semester are related to my major, which is nice because the material is super interesting to me. The workload for a business major here is intensive but not overwhelming.

After I graduated, I had trouble finding a job in my field. So naturally, I went to the Career Center for help, as it should still be an asset to me post-graduation. However, I was disappointed. I felt like a number, like I was swept under the rug after commencement. It's as if the school's sole focus is to find new fresh and happy faces for their prospective pamphlets.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
