Highland has two main types of people, One is middle aged going to back to school that had been sidelined by settling down with a family or joining the military, the other would be young just out of high school looking to get their gen-ed's out of the way before they transfer into a four year university.

Highland has very good facilities, they have a very nice track and also have an indoor track which has many opportunities to play sports or go for a job. They have a work out facility in the Indoor track. They have tennis courts, volleyball courts, and basketball courts. The schools campus is very nice and well kept.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have not had a school so efficient at finding money for their students. I would give an A++ if I could. The financial adviser was always quick to call me back, while also finding answers to financial questions with out any worry.

Teachers were good at preparing information, as well as presenting information to the students in a way that was interesting for everyone. Teachers also did well at keeping in touch with students

Their library and athletics center are very comfortable and up-to-date. However, their tutoring center is a little out-dated, which is sometimes inconvenient.

I am majoring in Food Science, so I have only taken general education classes at the community college I am attending. I plan to wait until I am attending a four-year college to take classes that are in my specific area of degree.

...I'm attending to get my Gen. Ed's out of the way.

There are some nice people, but mostly it is like a bigger high school. The sports teams only hang out with each other, so don't count on becoming best friends with anyone on a team. The sophomore players are especially unfriendly. They definitely act like they're better than everyone else.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have a couple of teachers who are absolutely wonderful! They are very helpful, but also encourage me to figure things out on my own. I never get bored in their classes and am always interested in what they have to teach me. However, there are a couple of classes I am taking where I am learning nothing new. They are very boring, and I feel like I will still ace the tests without even showing up to class. They need to reevaluate the level of their classes.

I am taking pre-rec's for nursing school all of them offered right at the Perry campus. The workload is avg. and I am not overwhelmed at this point. When studying for finals I can get a little stressed.

Like i said we are s small campus in Perry we don't have much we can not even buy a T-shirt it has to come from main campus
College Senior 2013-01-14T16:03:55Z
Like I said in question one we need the same attention as main campus. I receive most of my help from the front desk staff. The professors know curriculum.

They have a computer lab. You pay 0.10$ a page for printing. That's about it.

I'm going to raise my GPA and get gen eds taken care of. It's easy for that. They offer the classes you generally need. It's a good place for people like me.
College Junior 2012-12-28T21:40:16Z
The website is not fun to use. It's not really hard, just not easy. I go to a branch in Wamego and it's small but the school uses money for stupid stuff. It bugs me a little. The school is nice, easy to get to, easy to get around. The professors for the most part are pretty awesome. Never an unsafe feeling out there. Registration is really easy. They don't offer as many classes as I wished. Upper level classes are usually offered only at one time so that makes it hard if you're working.

I personally love the online courses that I have taken. I am not a big fan of all teachers so therefore if I can do my work and not have to deal with anybody I am fine with that.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I personally had a terrible experience with financial aid. I think the fact that they say your parent makes to much is foolish because our parents are not paying our tuition with the money they make at work. I believe that makes it hard for students to actually go to school because they can't figure out a way to pay there student bills.

I had a hard time getting anyone to help me when I would call the administration offices. I would be transferred to multiple people each not knowing why I was calling.

The teachers communicate effectively with the students through emails and notes on work.

I Love the Classes – Highland offers lots of classes that are benificial towards my degree.
College Junior 2012-08-25T17:48:23Z
I Love the Class Sizes – Having small classes allows for more one on one instruction, which in my opinion, is very beneficial.
College Junior 2012-08-25T17:46:30Z
I Love the Staff – The teachers make going to school worth while. I also enjoy having more one-on-one focus, since the class sizes are so small.

This college is very enjoyable to attend. The instructors are very knowledgeable.

The Powers That Be – I have just earned my Associates degree from this same location. For two years I have been taking classes while working two jobs. I have seen no help from my location or the main campus with out a call first. There is no help is enrolling in correct classes, financial aide or job placement. I have even had emails ignored from the adviser on my campus. The teachers that I have worked with have been very good at teaching their classes and even helping with others but that is as far as most of them go.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
