Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Unfortunately, Hofstra no longer offers any form of off-campus housing. There used to be the Twin Oaks complex, but that has been closed. Even if there were off-campus housing, the surrounding area is not the greatest place in the world. It's a bit of a rough neighborhood, and college students' houses do get broken into.

It's possible to find a place off campus, but it's not entirely worth it. The area is too dangerous. Frat houses get broken into, and female students have been assaulted walking to their sorority houses. Most of the people who live in these neighborhoods year-round don't want to live near college students, so there's that to take into consideration if you think living off campus means blasting music at 4 a.m. If you absolutely must get an apartment, opt for a nicer neighborhood like Garden City or East Meadow if you can afford it and make sure you have transportation to and from school.

Money Hungry

Everything on this campus is just too low end. At first, you might think the campus and everything is alright. However, once you're here for at least a month, you'll realize how the school is just a money hungry school.
