School Spirit
The athletic department holds pep rallies and gives away prizes like t-shirts, key chains, and cups to draw students in, but school spirit is still mediocre. The bleachers at a basketball game are usually sparsely filled with a few of the players' friends, the members of the Spirit Squad (the cheerleading club), and a well-loved retired custodian who is famous on campus for attending every Hollins game.
Getting Tickets
With the exception of some of the horse shows, all of the events are free, and attendance is encouraged.
Best Place to Take a Walk
Take a walk around the loop (the main road that encompasses campus), and check out the spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some students enjoy walking up to the founder's grave to get a bird's-eye view of the campus.
Did You Know?
Hollins is one of the only universities in the country without a mascot.
