It's the same as anywhere but summer and spring time are gorgeous!

We've got very good facilities.

Guys & Girls:
They're okay. I don't pay much attention to them since I don't spend time in school other than when I'm in class.

Local transportation is almost non-existent. I would have preferred if a bus came to the campus. You can only use taxis and Zipcars and that gets expensive.

Frederick is not a very big city. It has the feel of small town charm.

There food is great! The only problem is that I'm a late night eater and would love to get more late night snacks!

Hood is beautiful. There are endless amenities like a pool, modern athletic center, a welcoming student center and commuter lounge, beautiful landscaping and amazingly renovated historic buildings.

Downtown Frederick has a lot of nice cafes and casual restaurants. There is a lot of fast food as well and a Safeway. 7th Street Cafe has become my new favorite.
College Junior 2013-10-13T18:31:19Z
Hood is a small school and they have provided ample parking. Even if you have to park off-campus, there is free street parking that is amazingly close to campus and the main academic buildings. I have never once parked farther than about a football field from the building I wanted to be in. You don't even really need a car because Hood is right downtown close to lots of things. They do frequent bus trips too in case you want to see Baltimore, Annapolis, or DC while you're here.

I feel very safe on Hood's campus. It is well-lit and there always seems to be someone around that I could call upon for help.

You can find any type of race or religious beliefs. There are also a lot of foreigners who come to hood. The community is supportive and nice.
College Sophomore 2013-10-02T16:36:06Z
There is not much night life at Hood... Sometimes there is a movie usually people just hangout with friends in their rooms or on the quad.

I got a small amount of financial aid and they refuse to let me participate in work study to help out because my parents are middle class. They are also supporting another sibling in college and paying off my brothers college loans. You get better loans if your smart and athletic.
College Sophomore 2013-09-19T17:46:39Z
There are computers in every building that are available for use at any time as long as there isn't a class inside the room. They have Macs and Windows

Hood College is a very safe and small school. Security guards are kind and attentive.
College Sophomore 2013-09-19T17:43:21Z
The school is very safe. People leave their doors unlocked all the time and to my knowledge nothing has been stolen. I feel comfortable voicing my opinions. My fellow classmates are very sweet and kind. I am a sophomore and have never run into trouble with bad teachers, mean classmates, and terrible food. Police don't come to campus very often and its a super safe community.
College Sophomore 2013-08-31T18:40:44Z
The professors and classes are really excellent. The professors want to help the students and the classes offered are interesting and relatively rigorous. The only issue is that some classes are only offered at really awkward times, like even springs or odd falls or things like that.

It's pretty easy to find a spot close to the residence hall you live in, and it's relatively inexpensive to buy a parking pass. It's also pretty convenient that you don't have to drive most places at Hood college, because you can walk to so many things.
College Sophomore 2013-08-31T18:36:13Z
It's really, really cold in Maryland. Like, from October until March, it's so cold; but it's really nice when it's not cold.
College Sophomore 2013-08-31T18:35:17Z
It is relatively easy to get into the residence halls and they're very close to everything, and the off-campus apartments are very nice and not too far or expensive.
College Sophomore 2013-08-31T18:31:24Z
Some things just don't make sense--like the shower curtain instead of normal stall doors in some Rosenstock bathrooms. Campus is beautiful though, and most of the buildings are kept well up to date.
College Sophomore 2013-07-29T21:05:06Z
I am a commuter, but from what I have heard from my friends that live in the dorms, they like it. Honestly, the rooms that I have seen are a lot larger than the other college campuses I have visited. There doesn't seem to be any problems as far as I know.
College Sophomore 2013-07-29T21:02:03Z
The hood college campus is quite small, so I do not really need any type of transportation. There are bikes to rent but other than that, there are not a lot of transportations to use.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
