Academic Experience

The Academic Experience at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is pretty good but there are some flaws. I wish that the professors were more involved with the students but I do understand that it is very difficult for this to happen considering that the student body is extremely large. Then, if I have a question most of the professors are more then happy to sit down with me and help with what I am struggling with or do not understand. Then again, there are some professors who do not do this which makes it hard as a student. Finally, my biggest complaint it about class registration because it is all done online and is a huge hassle because the system is extremely slow when so many students are trying to get into the classes they need before they fill up. Therefore, sometimes students get closed out of the classes that they really need in order to finish their schooling.

Online Classes

So far I have taken 1 online class and 1 hybrid meaning we meet 6 times a semester. Its easy to navigate if you are a discipline dstudent you will do well. If you do typically fare better with in person instruction then online is definately not for you, there is very little interaction. You absolutely HAVE to manage your time properly or you will be up all night cramming for tests and doing homework.

Still in My First Year

I am still in my first year, I still have a long way to go. But I am very confident and positive that I will have a great future because the school is very good
