Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Houston Community College students have a reputation for success. HCC has several partnerships with educational programs committed to making students successful, as well as expanded facilities in Qatar for international teaching students. Professors are very serious in the science, math, and reading skills classes and often push students to study for at least 20 hours per week. Lots of professors are effective communicators, provide an organized syllabus and guidelines for classes, and are reasonable when grading. All professors have office appointments and each academic department offers tutoring daily. Advisers are very helpful, as are the busy Academic Deans. Class schedules are very flexible; there is now a find-a-tutor schedule for students, too. Small classes allow interaction and more effective class discussions, and lectures and presentations are often followed by note taking and oral questions asked by the professor.
