Required Tech Skills
Students must be comfortable using Houston Community College's Blackboard Vista program. All courses require Internet access and either Windows XP or higher or Mac OS X 10.2 or higher.
Typical Online Course - Start to Finish
Assignments can be handed in weekly online. Most courses have a discussion component where professors and students communicate via Blackboard. Ask for help 24/7 at the tutoring online center if needed.
Online Testing & Grading
Some online courses administer tests online while others hold tests at one of HCC's three testing centers during weekends. Tests can be up to two or three hours long. Review sessions are held prior to many exams, but it depends on the class. Grades are usually evenly weighted using all types of material used in the course.
