Having a smaller student body as compared to a four-year university is great for classmate interaction, and office appointments with professors aren't as hard to get. Lots of international students are able to find help in the Southwest region and have been able to learn English with HCC's classes. The library, computers, and other campus resources are abundant and useful during study hours. Career Services provides plenty of career days with vendors visiting every month to seek new student employees. Staff members are very polite and willing to help students plan their future careers, and the faculty has a great reputation. Students are always studying on campus or participating in one of the many study groups/tutoring sessions available. School policies are reasonable, and there is enough money from donations and the FAFSA to help students fund their education. At Houston Community College, students feel like they belong, can make solid business contacts, and are helpful with one another.
This school is good to go for students who are undecided in what they want to major. When I went and talked with some of the counselors, they put me in Liberal Arts and marked me as undecided. I told them I'm majoring in Game Design. After talking with a counselor who gave me really good advices there, that person told me I was undecided.
They grade the same. Exercises and exams are both weighed.
I really appreciated all my professors for their respective competence and their support all through the semester.
I'm an engineering major, and right now i'm completing my Associate in Science. During this spring 2013 semester, i took four classes that are include in my core curriculum. Overall, i scored one B and three As.
I wish the professor should be involved conversation with the students here, in order to understand or agree each other or discuss situation about the attendances, grades, tests, and homework.
