Comparable Schools' Diversity Grades:
College Prowler Take
Should you step on to the main campus for a quick peek at the student body, it might not necessarily look all that diverse to you, but when you take a closer look and realize that the people you see come from all over the country and the world, you might be inclined to change your opinion. The University is a national and international melting pot where you can experience the cultures and customs of the West Indian islands, as well as different African tribes and nations. Students from the South contrast with students from the North, the Midwest, and so on, bringing their own unique dialects, accents, and mannerisms to further enrich the “melting pot aura” on campus. All the students celebrate their differences and find common ground in the fact that they are all Howard students. We all face the same kinds of challenges and triumphs every day, and we are all family, even if not in the biological sense. The consensus is that, no matter who you are, where you come from, or what you believe, once you set foot on Howard soil, you are no longer just (insert name here) but also a Bison, and therefore part of the ever-growing family that is Howard University.
