College Prowler Take

It isn’t uncommon to be watching television in the lounge and see a security guard patrol the hallway. The security presence at the dorm is pretty evident, and they begin by monitoring student activities right upon entry into the building. The implementation of rules and regulations is strictly a dorm concern, and there is the typical Office of Residence Life and RA system to enforce these rules. The Office also conducts random fire safety inspections of student rooms to eradicate the dorm of banned materials (such as candles), and fine those that break the rules.

If a student breaks a rule, whether it be smoking in the dorms or not following the correct guest procedure, he or she will have a meeting with a Residence Life administrator. The Office has proven to be firm on their ground, kicking people out of the dorms for unruly behavior, though that is extremely rare. The most the average student has to worry about, though, is having guest privileges suspended for two weeks.

The campus police are pretty strict, though I've never seen many problems. There are places where you can get away with drinking alcohol, or I've seen students mix their alcohol with sodas. They get away with it because they are sneaky, not because the police don't do its job.

On Drinking

D

Most of the club rooms in Thomas Hunter have tons of alcohol available to drink there. There are a lot of liquor stores in the area where people buy cheap drinks. Nobody ever gets caught. I don't drink, but if you are into that, alcohol is easy to find.

There aren't really many restrictions - you are allowed a good amount of overnight visits during the week, and there aren't really any restricting rules if you don't live in the dorms. However, if you do, and you're 21+, you might be annoyed by the fact that you still can't have alcohol. Also, you can only sign in 2 guests at once, which is less than some schools in the city, and some people feel isn't enough.

I know people have gotten kicked out for drinking and drugging instances, so just from knowing that general info and not the specifics, I guess it could be strict. I have no idea, because there must be lots of folks doing it and not getting caught at all.
