Without a large percentage of students living on campus, whatever they do outside of the classroom is their own business. The only place where a “drug scene” could be analyzed would be downtown at the dorms.
Drug use does occur in the dorms, despite prohibition. For the student who wishes to have nothing to do with it, it can be out of sight, but not necessarily out of smell. Certain nights, some floors may smell like an opium den, while suspicious odors are absent on the majority of others. Behind closed doors, student activities are pretty much private. Those that want to use drugs will, and they most likely will get away with it, while those that don’t, won’t, and they wouldn’t have a problem avoiding it.

I don’t know anything about the drug scene at Hunter. If it’s there, it stays out of the way of people who aren’t involved. If it’s not—well, it’s NYC, so I’m sure there’s something. |

I don’t know much about the drug scene. There were rumors about a huge coke trend two years ago, but I don’t know about the validity of the rumors. |

Lot of Smokers, Lots of Poeple 21+

There are ALOT of smokers at Hunter - in nice weather you'll see them congregated around this ugly black sculpture in front of Hunter West. Also alot of Hunter students are older than 21, so there is alot of drinking.

I don’t do any, and I would hope there wasn’t a scene here. |
