Being an English Education major is fantastic. The teachers are very willing to work with you and are quick to make you feel at home. The workload is not difficult as long as you are a dedicated student. They provide many opportunities to get involved, such as the drama club, the Gargoyle, and the Prelude. They also work as a liaison between you and the area schools to provide you with your observation hours.

The local atmosphere is great. There are many theaters, shops, restaurants, and cultural activities nearby. We have the Capri theatre and the playhouse right down the road. The Shakespeare festival and Davis theatre are also nearby. There are some issues with safety, but as long as you do not go into certain areas at night and are always with a group you should be fine.

Sports are a large part of Huntingdon College. They have great facilities for the athletes.

Montgomery has its good and bad areas. I have had friends live off campus before, and they have never had any problems. I suppose it is just what part of the town you are in. Prices are a little expensive for most of the places.

Health & Safety:
Safety on Huntingdon's campus, can sometimes scare me. There are multiple break ins that happen around campus, and other criminal acts. Although, I do know that if something were to happen to me a security guard would be right there immediately.

Parking on campus is one of the things that Huntingdon College needs to fix. There are limited parking spaces and we are getting more and more students each year.

Greek Life at Huntingdon is rapidly growing every year. The Fraternities and Sororities are always hosting events, some strictly Greek and some open to the study body. Greek life at Huntingdon is not like most colleges however, it is not necessary to go Greek in order to be accepted by Greek students. Since a majority of the student body at Huntingdon participates in sports, it is often difficult for them to keep up with Greek life as well. The men and women of Huntingdon's Greek life are supportive of each other and don't mind lending a hand to anyone in need.

Like everything, Huntingdon's nightlife has it's ups and downs. There are more parties when there's more going on on campus. However, for older students, there are plenty of bars within walking distance of campus. Small warning: Huntingdon is a dry campus, nightlife is something to be careful with.

Huntingdon is located in a older part of Montgomery so a more quiet side of town, however it is extremely close to the downtown area. The downtown area of Montgomery offers a variety of options for entertainment as well as some shopping and tons of dining. The Cloverdale area, in which Huntingdon is located, also has its own variety of entertainment and a small selection of shopping. If you're up for the drive to East Montgomery from Huntingdon, there is tons of shopping and no shortage of things to do.

Living off campus is kind of dangerous in Montgomery but is less expensive than living on campus and you have the luxury of a kitchen and freedom you don't have in a dorm. Living in a dorm is fun but I can't wait to get my own place.

Our school is only about 70 acres big so you can walk anywhere that you need to go. If it is late, you are injured, or any other reason you might have, you can call security for a ride on their golf cart. They usually come very quickly and are always friendly.

We are all provided with a laptop when we arrive for the freshmen intro weekend to use for the next four years and is ours to keep after graduation. They are always one of the best quality computers for that year, and come equipped with all programs we would need for school already on them. We also have computers in the library to print anything you need off of them, or research if yours is down. Most people just use their own because the tech team is quick about fixing any problems we may have.

I think that the strictness we have is average for a religious based private school. We are a dry campus and if found drinking, you are sent to the judicial board for them to hear your case. We don't allow drugs and if you choose to smoke cigarettes, you have to be 25 feet away from any building on campus. Other than that, we don't have too many harsh rules: no campus curfew, or dress code.

There are numerous places to eat around campus from fast food to fine dining in Old Cloverdale. The most frequented places by students of HC are: La Zona Rosa, a delicious and extremely affordable Mexican restaurant, Chicken Salad Chick, which has numerous types of chicken salads, sandwiches, and amazing cookies, and also Kraze, a frozen yogurt shop.

Health & Safety:
Its pretty safe at Huntingdon. The neighborhood is nice which allows our campus to be open. Other than a couple of cars being broken into, its pretty safe.

I loved majoring in Athletic Training. If you are interested in that though, Huntingdon is not a fit for you. There is no longer a Athletic Training program. The workload was overwhelming at times especially because of observation hours at practices and games. The facilities are nice but could have been better. The faculty was the best part of my experience. My advisor set me up with an excellent internship after my senior year.

Greek life offers fun events on campus as well as off. There is no separate housing for students in a fraternity or sorority although a few houses resemble a frat house. There are always parties to attend if you like but are no looked at differently if that is not your scene.

Health & Safety:
I have always felt safe on Huntingdon College campus. Security officers are always riding around on their golf carts and are there to give escorts when you dont want to cross campus by yourself at night. Watch out though, they are strict on parking tickets.

I love being involved in Greek Life at Huntingdon College! Huntingdon is a small school so a large part of the student population is either in a fraternity or sorority. Greeks do great fundraisers for their philanthropies, host great formals/parties, and support their "brothers" and "sisters" academically.

Huntingdon College has a wonderful sports studies department with great facilities and professors. I have had trouble with science courses here because the professors are very knowledgeable about their subject, but don't always explain in an understandable way.

Varsity sports are a very big part of student life at Huntingdon. Student attendance is very high for football and lacrosse games. Our coaches are some of the best and we have great facilities and trainers.

I really enjoy being in the Sports Studies department at Huntingdon College! All of the professors are extremely knowledgeable and helpful in understanding material. Having a physical therapy clinic on campus is also a unique facility for the campus.

Sports Are Ok Would Be Better With Scholarships – the teams are great considering who they are working with they would be better if they could give scholarships but the fan base and the band keep it entertaining when the teams are losing
Sorry, there are no reviews.
