Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

ISU is the place to be right now. The University offers several levels of degrees in various departments and programs. The ISU health program is a particularly strong program that is well-known by other institutions. The University is recognized for its mission to bring health and health sciences education to the state of Idaho. Much of ISU’s growth has been thanks to 20-year University president Richard Bowen. During his tenure, the health program has opened up new opportunities and programs for students, and there has also been growth in the counseling and nursing programs on the Boise campus. In the College of Arts and Sciences, a physical science building has been added with an improved chemistry program. Overall, there has been an abundant amount of growth academically, especially in health-related fields. What the University does fall short in is building the smaller programs. ISU is known as a health college, but not everybody wants to be a doctor or dental hygienist. All the major health programs receive money and improvement before any other program on campus. This is not to say that the other programs cannot operate adequately. They are still excellent programs with excellent faculty, but they are not reaching their full potential.

Professors Are Nice, Subjects Somewhat Limited

I am currently not attending, but will again this fall. Last time I attended I loved it. The professors are kind, and helpful. They provide a wide array of information in their subjects and personalize a lot of the work. I am pleased with it. While I love the classes and subjects I am taking, the variation is somewhat limited compared to larger-city colleges.

Journalism Is Great

I visited Idaho State last year when I was competing in the HSJA State conference. The Macs are great and ISU has an amazing Mass Comm Department.
