College Prowler Take

Computers at ISU are quite accessible and convenient for students. The computer kiosks set up in various parts of campus provide students with quick and easy access to the school’s Internet connection. Word programs and other software are handy for students, and problems are rare. The only time students really have any problem finding computers is between classes and right before finals week. The Internet connection also rarely has problems or is backed up. The only time students may experience trouble or delays in accessing their accounts is during registration when everybody else wants to be doing the same thing. The new Rendezvous Center has brought ample new opportunities and computer access to the ISU campus. With the labs, computers, and new technology, ISU students will have a huge technological advantage over students in the past. And with technology becoming fundamental in many professions, students need to have the newest digital opportunities available. The Rendezvous and the continual improvement of computer labs on the ISU campus is helping students get ready for the digital world.

Computer labs aren’t too bad—they do get crowded at certain times. There are a few different labs on campus, so you should always be able to find one. Having your own computer would be nice but not necessary. The school’s computer accounts work great!

There are plenty of computers on campus for everyone to use. You get 30 pages of free printing in most labs if not all of them. They are kept really clean, and the computers are up to date. The high-speed connection is nice, and you can generally find a computer to use.

The computer network is great. Labs are more crowded during certain times of day, but I have never walked into the lab and not gotten a computer.

The network here is quite ahead of the curve compared to most other things. The wireless network is accessible in any campus building now. There are enough labs around campus that you can usually get a computer, but it might not be in the lab most convenient for you. Your own laptop here makes perfect sense with the wireless network, although laptop checkout is also available to students who purchase a computer account.
