Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Most students feel safe on campus due to the high patrol of Public Safety and the few minor crime reports and just because of the laid-back campus ISU has. Pocatello is generally a conservative town with a low crime rate. Most crime reports are related to parking issues or fender benders. There really are not a lot of problems on the ISU campus. Every now and then, a report comes out about some stolen computers, but there is not a lot to for students to be concerned about. It is impossible to walk to class without seeing a Public Safety officer on patrol. Public Safety also offers numerous self-defense classes, especially for women. The scariest part for any ISU student would probably be the off-campus alleys. There have been reports of peeping Toms and stalkers, so women especially would be wise to walk with somebody at night, lock house and car doors, and be aware of what is going on around you when walking in alleys or streets at night. While Pocatello is a safe town, that does not mean students do not need to watch out for themselves and know what to do if something were to happen.

ISU Public Safety

The Police and safety services at ISU are always around. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't see the police and public safety officers roaming the campus. They do a pretty good job at answering needs and keeping our campus safe. Even though I personally have not had experience with any of the Public Safety officials, I can tell you that campus crime rate is very low and personal safety is at the top of their priorities. I feel very safe at all times while I'm on campus, even at night. I'm giving them a B+ because you can always work on things no matter how good you are at something.
