College Prowler Take

Students definitely have their favorite eating joints in Pocatello. Everybody pretty much goes to the same place, usually Goody’s. And while there is a wide variety of places to eat in Pocatello, the romantic fine-dining setting is a tough one to find. While there is definitely gratitude for what’s here, there could certainly be more. So unless your girlfriend enjoys a candle-lit dinner at McDonald’s, which has been done before, don’t count on finding too much romance in Pocatello cuisine. Fast food is the cheap way to go in Pocatello. Choices include Wendy’s, McDonald’s, Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, Arby’s, Taco John’s, and many others. For dining in, the city offers the popular Applebee’s, Winger’s, Red Lobster, Sizzler, and more. As far as student hot spots off campus, Buddy’s is the place to be to hang out and get good spaghetti. The sandwiches at Goody’s also make it a popular restaurant, usually crammed with people during lunch. Jimmy John’s offers subs with fresh bread and their signature “free smells.” In Pocatello, there is dining for any taste.

We have great restaurants here in...

We have great restaurants here in Pocatello. There is a good variety, from fast food to sit-down meals. Some of my favorite places here in Pocatello include: Johnny B. Goode’s, a charming ‘50s restaurant; the Grecian Key, something different with affordable prices; the Pressbox, a place to watch the game with friends but also inviting for families as well; Ross Park Drive-in, an old-school snack shop where you can get burgers, fries, and hot dogs on your way to Ross Park; Buddy’s, a famous place known for its wonderful Italian food; Food for Thought, a nice soupand-sandwich kitchen; and Senor Iguana’s with its great Mexican food.

Pocatello could use some additional eateries. The best Mexican food can be found at Rolberto’s. It is ghetto, but it’s a great deal and delicious. There are several good Chinese places in town, and the Grecian Key is excellent!

If there is one thing that I love, it is food. Pocatello has the usual college places: Pizza Hut, McDonald’s, and so forth. But on top of that, there is a small place just off campus called Goody’s, which sells amazing sandwiches and pizza. If you want something a little nicer, there is a Red Lobster nearby. Winger’s is great because they have the best chicken wings on the planet—sweet with just the right amount of spicy. They are perfect in my eyes—a veritable food of the gods.
