The best part is you are close by every other dorm. The classes are close by the dorm if your classes are in those builds.

I will go to my same school because it is small and the teachers are ever helpful, when you need them.

The dining is good but after a while you want to have other options to eat.

College Freshman 2013-11-10T03:27:36Z
We can have cars on campus, however if you want to go some when then they need a car to get to some places. We don't have public transportation.

I did receive a substantial amount of financial aid however there is a favoritism for some students receiving more than others based on the areas they are from. I suggest that you always check in with a counselor and make sure you are on top of your stuff.

There is a small square which has multiple little shops. The biggest attraction in town in the Super Walmart. There is another square closer to the school that is walkable that has a JCPenny and a couple other things. There is a Rue 21, Maurices, and Game Stop as well. The school usual has an event going on every weekend to make sure that students who don't go home every weekend have something to do.

There are 3 places to eat on campus: the cafeteria, the grill, and the coffee shop. The cafeteria always has a salad bar, sandwich bar, and pasta, so if the rest of the options are too sketchy, there's other things to eat. The grill has fast-food type stuff. The coffee shop has sandwiches and salads and, of course, coffee.

Changed my major due to an excellent professor's influence. I enjoy history and was given the opportunity to work with 8th grade history students. It was very challenging and interesting.

Parking is not close to the dorms. Also, it is not necessary to have a car on campus. There is about 10 minutes to walk to class.

Getting a shuttle to the airport must be scheduled ahead of time. Sometimes it is hard to schedule a flight coordinated with the shuttle bus. The schedule is posted conveniently.

It does snow, but does not interfere with getting to class. Classes are never canceled. Walkways are usually cleared very quickly. Do have fun playing in snow at times.

Academics at IC are pretty well balanced and taught at high standards. There are lots of options as to what academic courses you may want to take but the size of the classes are sometimes too small. You could sign up for a course just to knock out a gen ed and end up in a class with nine students, most of them being seniors. Options are great but convenience is more important.

The places to dine on campus are very limited in what they serve. We have the dinning hall which is usually home cooked meals with a large salad bar. "The Grill" is just like a McDonalds on campus and the coffee shop is usually your go to place to eat or grab a sandwich

Freshman parking is a nightmare, but Im sure you can already guess why. Freshman have one large parking lot that is across from the football field that is at the far end of campus. Its a long walk whe you go shopping or have to go to class. Besides freshman parking I would have to say parking is great. Students are allowed to park on most of the parking lots and have access to street parking as well. Parking at the curb or behind the library when your running late to class is a life saver for those students who commute and the students whose dorm is far from the building their class is being held in.

Illinois College has great academic and social possibilities. The environment on campus with students, faculty and staff is always relaxing and fun. There is never a dull moment and all the alumni that u have ever spoken with say they enjoyed attending Illinois College. So I believe that says a lot about the school.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
