For IIT students, off-campus dining by the school is very limited given being in dividing lines of two not-well off neighborhoods. You have to walk at least 25min into Bridgeport to get to most restaurants, mainly pizza, hotdogs, diner food, and various lower-budget chains. I can't speak for going the opposite direction into Bronzeville. Someone tried to mug me going to the McDonald's two blocks away from campus, so I stopped trying in that area.

Off campus dining is fairly well, there is Jimmy Johns near by as well as a pizza joint and Starbucks. If wanted something else downtown is not far at all specially when taking the train.

There are some pretty diverse choices of fast food to chose from, which is affordable. This includes, McDonald's, Subway, White Castle, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Popeye's, Miller's Pizza, and a barbeque joint or two. There is also a Starbucks and a Mother Butter's popcorn place. Not many healthy restaurants from what I've seen. Although college students tend to migrate toward fast food or other cheap food because of how expensive college is. Especially a college like the Illinois Institute of Technology.

IIT is in the HEART of Chicago! China town is a 10min Bus ride away or 20mins of a walk (MAX!). Green line takes you to downtown. There are a couple of mexican food places around as well! Food is not a concern at IIT! And it's priced very reasonable.

The off campus food is mostly local cuisine, lots of home food that will remind you of grandmas cooking. There is a good variety for food, there is a wing place, lots of Italian and Mexican and an abundance of Chinese since we are near china town. Not much unique food, but lots of little diners.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
