College Prowler Take
The dorms at ISU are your typical college dorms. on the West Campus, there are the Tri Towers, which include Wright, Haynie, and Wilkins halls. The majority of ISU’s freshmen and sophomore athletes live there because the athletic facilities surround it. Unfortunately, it is quite a hike to get to the Quad and classes, and that makes winters almost unbearable. Watterson Towers is the most popular place to live on campus. If you do not live in Watterson and go to visit
a friend there, good luck finding the right room because the elevators do not stop on every floor. registering to live in Watterson is also a painful experience, as it seems everyone wants to live there. Many foreign students live in atkin-Colby, giving Illinois residents a taste of other cultures.
While many may prefer an alternative to dorms, ISU tries to make the experience as painless as possible. Students may feel cramped in the small rooms, but each floor has a large lounge for studying purposes or even just for hanging out. But be wary of packing too many clothes—each dorm
resident has only a small closet. also, many small appliances are restricted from the dorms, such as coffee makers, hot plates, microwaves, etc. a convenient aspect of the dorms is the numerous washing machines and dryers in each building. The cost is very affordable, and many students living off campus try to sneak back to do their laundry at the dorms.

I loved living in Tri Towers....
I loved living in Tri Towers. It’s a nice transition for freshmen because you form your own community out there. The seclusion of Watterson is bad for freshmen because you can’t meet people as easily. |

Try and visit the dorms so you can...
Try and visit the dorms so you can get a feel of the set-up and atmosphere you like. Watterson may have the biggest rooms, but it is not very social. |

The dorms are fine. Watterson...
The dorms are fine. Watterson Towers has the biggest rooms, but it is very confusing getting to rooms because the elevator system does not go to all the floors. |

Atkin-Colby is a great dorm....
Atkin-Colby is a great dorm. Watterson is great to live in, but registering to live there is horrible. It seems like everyone is doing it at the same time, so things start to get screwed up. Watterson, though, is probably the most popular place to live. |

I would avoid Watterson. Everyone...
I would avoid Watterson. Everyone wants to live there, and it is a hassle. The only nice thing is that it is so close to campus. |
