College Prowler Take
One of the many reasons why Student Health Services is constantly overflowing with students is the weather. The weather at ISU is extremely unpredictable and causes students to bring their entire wardrobe to school at move-in. Many students wear a sweatshirt in the morning and by the afternoon, they are stripped down to a tank top. Summers are generally hot, sticky, and humid. on the contrary, parkas are a necessity for the winters, and windburn can be found on almost all of the students’ faces from trekking to class. This is an issue that generally frustrates students because it becomes difficult to pick out what clothes to wear.
While the weather may be a drag from time to time, students at ISU generally don’t let it affect them. The fall makes the campus look its best with the leaves changing colors. Days when it snows are probably the worst because
many students have a far walk to campus. This is when it is essential to wear layers. Students are also unable to predict what the weather will be like for the start of school. It is common to find students lying out on the Quad in the middle of September. Some students may see the frequent change of weather as an annoyance, but others see it as a way to experience all of the seasons.

You have to bring everything from tank tops to sweaters because you never know what it’s going to be like. This makes it a pain to move in because you have so many things. I do like having the weather change because then it is not boring. |

The weather here is crazy, so bring all that you have. Even if you think you won’t need your sweats in the summer, you can never be sure. Make sure you bring an umbrella, too, because it rains a lot in the spring. |

We experience both winter and summer here, so you need to bring all your clothes. You may walk into class wearing shorts, then walk out and think you need sweatpants. It’s not uncommon to see students on the Quad carrying around sweatshirts because no one knows what it’s going to be like. |

It is hot and cold every day of the week. It’s never the same. I guess that’s why this school is never boring, though. You get everything here. |
