  • How much getting up at 6 a.m. for a work-study job sucks (a lot).

  • Don’t spend too much time in your room; you’ll turn into a laptop-wielding psycho.
  • Go to Steak ‘n Shake.
  • Join as many extracurricular groups as you can, it’s a great way to meet people.
  • Keep track of your meal exchange money, it disappears fast.
  • Take the scuba diving class.
  • Tell yourself you’ll get up in the morning to work out at Shirk. And then actually do it.

Connections

IWU is a small school, therefore, professors and the faculty are able to have one on one with the students quite often. It is not difficult to fall behind, the professors will contact the student if that is the case. My school offers many internships and many students speak with professors to get jobs after college. Often times it is easy to land jobs after college because of the connections many students have with professors.

International Community

Being an International Student myself I can say that we have a very interesting group of students here at Wesleyan. The International community is very family oriented and an easy group of people to be around. Most International Students are much more mature and knowledgeable than the American students, making them more interesting to be around.

Facts

Traditions Passover Party: Every year, Passover is celebrated by a small group of students, both Jewish and Gentile. The gathering isn’t a widespread event, but it has occurred every year for many years past. The celebration consists of a strange game of hide-and-seek accompanied by a night of partying. The only reason it’s celebrated as Passover is because spring is on the way.
Urban Legends It is suspected that a ghost haunts Kemp Hall. This is mostly due to unexplained sounds that originate in the hidden staircase on the northeast end of the building. Also, if you’re on the third floor, the acoustics of the building make it sound like there’s an entire ballroom of people on the first floor, when there may only be three or four students in the conference room.
