Honestly, as a non-traditional, adult student who works full-time and rents a home, I couldn't say how the off-campus housing is and how helpful the university is in locating homes.

Housing is pretty easy to find and not too expensive. You probably need a roommate depending on your income, but that's not so bad because then you have someone to carpool with.

As an international student i find the apartments to be costly. The apartments are many with enough security and well governed. They are close to campus and well connected with public transport since i don't have a car.

The off-housing selection at IUSB is a mixed bag, with many aparment complexes within a 10 mile radius of campus. Everyone is different, and everyone has different things that they look for when evaluating the best apartment for them. Not all apartment complexes are created equal, and some are better than others, but on the whole I would say off-campus housing is more affordable, and allows you more individual freedom than campus housing. Landlords, safety, parking, and convenience are all variable depending on which one you chosse, so I would strongly recommend doing thorough research before making a selection. Visit multiple apartments multiple times, speak with the landlords face-to-face, and try to contact residents to get their opinions before committing to signing a lease. Also, compare pricing from multiple places, as well as the amenities/benefits available to you.
