College Prowler Take
For being the 12th biggest city in the United States, Indianapolis does not match up in terms of public transit. There is no subway or elevated train, but there are a few shuttle services and a bus line. IndyGo is the city’s bus company, and it is the primary source of public mass transit in the city. Bus fare is $1.50 for adults, and there are typically free transfers (depending on the route). There are also $3.50 all-day passes, which are available upon request when entering onto the bus. The buses travel in every direction of the city, so you can find transportation to about any general area, but there are a few weak points that are not reached by IndyGo; to get to those places, you’ll have to take a cab, which can get pretty expensive. The good news, though, is that many students live on the outskirts of the city, so there is a decent chance of finding a buddy to carpool with. Once you’re on campus, the shuttle system is a pretty reliable mode of transportation, but the campus is compact enough that you can walk to pretty much anywhere you need to go. The wintertime is probably the best time in which to utilize the campus shuttle. There is also a campus shuttle service from Bush Stadium to campus for students that want to park for free and ride to campus. This is a fairly popular service, and it saves students lots of money.

The campus has shuttle buses that move students from one side of campus to another, but it is sometimes simpler to just walk. Now that Herron has a building on IUPUI’s main campus, all parts of IUPUI that students interact with are within walking distance of each other. |
