Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The signature limestone buildings on campus are constantly undergoing renovations that no one ever seems to witness. There is a covert team of custodians, gardeners, and maintenance personnel that keep everything beautiful. IU really does have everything. For the fitness junkie, there are state-of-the-art facilities; for the movie buff, there are foreign and rare movies screenings; for the food lover, there are gourmet meals served periodically in the elegant Tudor room in the IMU.

IU does a great job of finding ways to keep students entertained by and enamored with the college lifestyle. The campus is a close-knit community with so much to offer. If you are unable or unwilling to go off-campus, you don’t have to. You can mail bills at the on-campus post office, eat a gourmet lunch, watch movies and shows, get a fade or a haircut, play a game of pickup basketball, or work out without ever stepping foot off IU property. Although it might be somewhat monotonous to live for four years within a few square miles, the nearby facilities are what make IU a convenient, fun, and pleasant place to be.

The Sight on Campus

Indiana University is known for its beauitful campus by far. The scenery of the campus in general is amazing. I thoroughly enjoy walking to class and I'd rather walk to class than catch the bus anyday just to view the campus. Facilites such as the main library is equipped with modern technolgy and provides many different support centers for all subjects. The recreation center is amazing as well. There are activities that range from zomba, yoga, to swimming and basketball. It is fully equipped with state of the art facilites. As far as activites on campus, there is always something to do and something for every and anybody! There are different cultural centers and different clubs as well. If you simply cannot find a club that fits you and your interests, you have the ability to make one up yourself!

Resources All Around

Every facility, no matter the building you are in, is very nice. Well maintained and open all night so you can study in computer labs of other buildings when the main library is packed. All convenient to access as well because of the bus service and shortcuts walking across campus. Some are nicer than others but they're all well equipped and comfortable to study in.

Favorite Things To Do

Between classes, you can shoot a game of pool in the Union, listen to live music, or look at a photography exhibit in the gallery. There’s always bowling if you’re looking for something a little more physical, and afterward, you can quench the thirst you worked up at one of the restaurants out the back door. Book a spring break trip at the travel agency, or an IU Outdoor Adventure. Nice weather? Take a stroll through the arboretum, or visit the solarium to do some sun spot watching. If you’re in the mood for something more academic, take a tour of the Lilly Library’s rare book collection

There’s usually a movie or two showing around campus, a popular option everywhere, but that’s just the beginning. Free concerts at the Musical Arts Center are appealing, as are the operas and ballets performed there. The IU Auditorium consistently brings in big-name acts along with shows such as Stomp, Rent, and Miss Saigon. The most popular place on campus for at least a few months out of the year is undeniably the Assembly Hall, where the men’s basketball team takes on its opponents.
