Deciding where to eat in Bloomington is always an adventure. The diversity of the student body invites an array of restaurateurs to the area, specializing in everything from Thai and Indian food to Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine. There’s never a shortage of delicious choices; the hardest part is figuring out what you’re in the mood for. Impressive restaurants unique to Bloomington include the Bombay House (an Indian restaurant close to campus), which has a lunch buffet during the week that could satiate the most intense hunger. There is also Michael’s Uptown Café, which offers a cozy atmosphere and fantastic food with a New Orleans kick. Try the eggs Benedict for a great way to start the day. If more traditional American fare would hit the mark, Jimmy John’s makes quality subs “so fast you’ll freak,” and Brave New Deli has a wide variety of sandwich choices.

Of course, Bloomington houses the requisite fast food and chain restaurants as well, but part of the allure of a small town with a big school in the middle is the explosion of culture. A student could probably eat three times a day at a different local restaurant for a month without repeating. If you have a craving for a favorite food, Bloomington has the answer.
