Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

IU is a well-rounded school, excelling in everything from academics to athletics. The fact that it offers something for almost everyone is the testimony given by the student body; over 40,000 kids from all over the world found IU and have made it their home for four years or more. IU’s campus is an original place in an isolated little town, and while it may be in the middle of nowhere, it doesn’t take long for most students to find something that makes it feel a little more like home.

Most of the complaints about IU involve its large size, and if you’re looking for the kind of school where everybody knows everyone else’s names, this isn’t the right place for you. However, the faculty, staff, and general population of Indiana University all work together to make an otherwise intimidating atmosphere feel a bit more accepting. There are so many opportunities here that your experience at IU is undoubtedly what you make of it. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to gain admission, you don’t have to be a long-time binge-drinker to have a great social life, and you barely even have to leave your dorm room to make friends. Ultimately, these are just a few of the many positives that make the college experience in Bloomington, Indiana the most memorable and most educational years of your life.

Indiana University and Bloomington Are Both Amazing

The school has a gorgeous campus, wonderful, experienced professors, and so much to offer for everyone. The dining options are diverse, the town is active and lively, and, as a freshman, I feel very welcomed and at-home here. I look forward to the next few years of my life here. If I were required to choose a school again, I would most definitely choose IUB-it has all I wanted and more.

First Choice, Best Choice

IU was my first choice and only one of two colleges I applied to, and I absolutely do not regret this choice. The campus is beautiful, the other students are wonderful, and the professors are fun. Parties here are, of course, a big part of campus life, but you can easily find groups who don't do the party scene.

Everything is well-organized, and...

Everything is well-organized, and overall, it is just a really, really good school. The students can really annoy me sometimes, though. Most people here live for partying, but I’m not the type that likes to party a whole lot, so that’s why it bothers me. There are all different kinds of people here, though, so you’ll find whatever you are looking for. There are about 140 different student organizations, which is good for meeting people that interest you.
