I avoid drug use so I don't know how much there is, but I have never been exposed to it.

Iona College like any school is what you make it. . The people who write the negative things about Iona I can assure you did not make the best of it. I know that because I once my freshman year wanted to transfer from Iona and god I am so happy I never did. When it comes to the nightlife, sure, New Rochelle lacks in variety of places but its not about where you are it is all about the people you are with. Regardless of how many bars there are you are going to be doing the same thing. A big school sure would beat Iona when it comes to house parties but I assure you that you will never make TRUE FRIENDS at a big school like you would at Iona. I have had the opportunity to have two internships, one with the Secret Service and a great business one in Times Square and I know if I didnt go to Iona it would not be possible. If you truly want to delve into who are as a person and see how you progress in you're life come to Iona. I am senior now and I see how different I am now from when I was freshman wanting to transfer into a big "party school". I would have missed out on meeting people that truly have made such an impact on my life that I know for a fact that a big school could have NEVER provided for me. Iona has a bright future and trust me it is something that I am proud to be a part of.

The drug scene at Iona College is not big. There might be occasional smoking yet it solely depends on what crowd you hang around. Drinking, however, is a more common activity but very rarely does excessive drinking occur.

There are countless amounts of dining options on and near campus. Iona offers a variety of foods for every craving. If you choose not to dine on campus, there is a local diner, whose food is very good, a Dunkin' Donuts, Little Ceasars, KFC, Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chinese restaurants, pizza restaurants, and so many more food establishments located near the campus.

Iona College, located in vibrant New Rochelle, has a lot to offer which mirrors the town it is located in. Minutes from New Roc City, there is always something to do in the neighborhood. The friendly residents of New Rochelle love the college students and always show love towards them.

Guys & Girls:
People at the school seem to be very friendly and outgoing. There were some shy people but thats everywhere, but there really were lots of different races and people seemed to get along pretty well.

The computers are amazing and they are fast i enjoy using them they are very helpful to me.

I find parking all the time, whether it be on campus or off, sometimes parking has to be done fairly far from your classroom, but a little exercise never hurt anybody.
College Junior 2013-08-06T20:24:12Z
Night life is not something to really look forward to. There are rarely parties unless you enjoy hanging out in the dorms and when there are school parties hardly any students attend.

The professors are wonderful, I have fallen in love with the professors I have had so far involving my major and would recommend them to anyone intending to major in Speech Pathology. How hands on the are and how motivated and passionate they are about what they teach is inspirational and makes me excited to learn every time I enter the classroom.

As a Speech Pathology/ Audiology major, my school has a clinic in which everyone may have their own clients and practice with them , it works as an internship and prepares us for entering into a real clinic. Advisers on campus are very helpful too with being able to tell us where internships are available and which ones we can apply to.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe while walking on campus at night, security is always available and driving around campus.

one of the worst overall college experiences I could possibly have. Although I did do well academically and enjoyed most of my professors, it felt like High School all over again. Not to mention the social/party scene was very poor and the student population is very cliquey and arrogant
College Sophomore 2013-07-30T15:39:30Z
depends on who your RA is. some are lenient and others are very strict
College Sophomore 2013-07-30T15:35:13Z
nothing special. greek parties are short and minimal

I received a good amount of financial aid from the school. I did have to apply for it in order to receive it. The majority of the package was in scholarships and grants, very little of it consisted of loans.

There are various sports but none of them are really pushed. There is not much school spirit at Iona College.
College Sophomore 2013-07-11T03:44:28Z
Sororities are ok. But some of them are really bitchy
College Sophomore 2013-07-11T03:43:14Z
Not much diversity, black and white is pretty much 90% of what you see
College Junior 2013-07-03T18:21:09Z
The first year I received a decent amount of financial aid, but it has decreased the passed years. I need more of a scholarship and with the grades I have I know it should be offered but no one is willing to help.

Campus facilites are by far the best. The libraries are filled with Mac computers, but students have the option of switching between Mac or PC modes, which is very convenient for students that prefer one operating system over another. Libararians are also extremely helpful. In addition, while I do not have much time to to go the gym, I have been on a tour of the campus in the past, and the gym is equipped with new, high tech machines that are easy to understand even for workout rookies. In general, the campus facilites are very easily accesible.

Health & Safety:
Campus Safety – I feel safe on campus, but at times, question the fact that there is no security to let students in. I went to undergrad in a highly urban area, and students were required to show their ID to get into every campus building. While I do not think such extremes are needed at Iona College, it would be nice to have more security officers present in different buildings, especially at the Murphy Center, which is where I attend classes in the evening.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
