The financial aid process at Iona College was okay. It took some time to get everything sorted out, but I received the financial aid that I needed.

I received a good amount of financial aid from the school. I did have to apply for it in order to receive it. The majority of the package was in scholarships and grants, very little of it consisted of loans.

The first year I received a decent amount of financial aid, but it has decreased the passed years. I need more of a scholarship and with the grades I have I know it should be offered but no one is willing to help.

For my first year starting at Iona as a graduate student, I had to call the financial aid office every week. For some reason, my FAFSA was processed, but Iona's financial aid advisors could not view it on their end. For weeks, I called Iona's financial aid office asking if they had received my FAFSA information. In the end, I had to contact FAFSA directly and receive a specific code that I then gave to Iona's financial aid office so that they finally received my information. Thankfully, the process for the upcoming school year has gone smoothly.

Best Before You Enter School – For receiving merit scholarships, it is best to do before you start at the college. I do not know many people getting scholarships once attending or transferring here. Once you are here, though, dealing with Financial Services is one of the largest pains ever. They are slow, incompetent, and never know the school's policies.
