College Prowler Take
When students find themselves busy studying for tests, sometimes the only social scene is at the dining hall. Ithaca’s three dining halls each provide good atmospheres for conversation and usually a decent meal. The Terrace Dining Hall has by far the best food on campus, but it’s the longest walk for most students. The Towers and Campus Center have grab-and-go lunches that are great for those on the run. The dining halls also have themed meals about once a week, such as Italian or Mexican night. Sub Connection makes tasty subs and accepts Bonus Bucks. For fruit smoothies on warm days or a cup of coffee when it’s terribly cold, stop by the Grand Central Café. Mac’s, located in Campus Center, is a great place to pick up snacks. It is close to most of the dorms, and accepts Bonus Bucks. If you do not have a meal plan, however, food shopping here is overpriced. All in all, campus food is pretty decent. Compared to other schools some students have visited, the food at IC is gourmet. Sometimes, what is served in the dining halls seems a bit repetitive, but students find that varying which dining halls they go to or looking at the menus posted online before deciding where they will eat leaves them more satisfied. The dining halls offer everything from steaks and cereal to vegan and Asian. Besides the high price, most are pleased with their dining experiences.

I think the Terrace Dining Hall is...
I think the Terrace Dining Hall is the best college food I’ve ever had, and I’ve visited a lot of campuses. I think that between the salad bar, the sandwich bar, the pasta bar, the ice cream bar, the dessert bar, and the hot food line, there is a lot of variety. It makes eating in the dining hall a more pleasurable activity than it probably should be at college. Being off campus now, I really miss those hot, well-balanced meals. Plus, the food court atmosphere with the fountain in the Terraces is really nice. |

Sorry to say, the food is slowly...
Sorry to say, the food is slowly declining in quality. Campus Center is the most convenient dining hall, but it also has the worst food. Terraces has the best food, and it is kind of neat looking, but if you live further down, then the amount of stairs you have to climb to get to it, especially in winter, sometimes doesn’t make it worth the effort. At least all the dining halls have certain foods you can count on, like pizza, cereal, sandwiches, and usually good desserts. La Vincita has good stuff, like pizza, hot and cold sandwiches, baked goods, and soup. |

The Terrace Dining Hall is the...
The Terrace Dining Hall is the favorite on campus. It has the most variety. The best advice I received about campus food was that if you eat the same foods all the time, then you won’t like anything. Change it up, and you won’t get sick of it. |

Both a vegan grill and Kosher dining are available for students who have certain eating disciplines. The Terrace Dining Hall is known for having the best food and largest selection. The Towers is well known for its dessert bar and its late-night option which runs from 8 p.m. to midnight. I think that the Campus Center is by far the best because the food selection and quality is consistent, and the chefs are the friendliest and treat you like family. |

The food on this campus is...
The food on this campus is amazing, period. I look forward to every meal. In fact, I am going to be a senior next year, and I will be staying on campus because I love the food so much! At every meal, there are both old-fashioned American favorites, as well as a healthy array of foods. It is always fresh. Plus, the chefs and management do their best to appeal to everyone’s tastes. They’re always looking for feedback and new ideas to keep the meals different but delicious. |
