College Prowler Take
Forget about joining Delta Kappa Epsilon, Alpha Sigma Phi, or Alpha Kappa Alpha while attending Ithaca College. After a student died in a fraternity-related hazing incident in 1980, the college banned all fraternities and sororities. While some “underground” Greek life occurs on campus, the College refuses to recognize any of the social groups. If students yearn to participate in Greek festivities, they can visit Cornell University, which is just on the other side of town, to socialize with Cornell’s 60 fraternities and sororities. Many students don’t realize the lack of Greek life on campus until they arrive for their freshman year. It may be disappointing for some, but many students appreciate the fact that there are no social fraternities at IC. The few professional fraternities on campus have no real presence; most students don’t even know of them.

AWFUL
F
You can go to Cornell if you wish, but its a hassle, and the frat parties there aren't any better than off campus parties on Prospect St. or at the circles. There's an "underground" fraternity and an underground sorority at IC, but the frat is filled with Crew team d-bags, and the sorority consists of probably the most hideous girls at the college. If you want Greek life, this is not your school.

The College doesn’t endorse any official fraternities or sororities, but there are a few unofficial ones. You don’t really pay much attention to them in general, and it doesn’t seem that most people care about them. |

There is no Greek life. There are underground fraternities and sororities, but they do not do that much. As far as I know, Greek life is nothing here. |
