| Advice on Finding a Job/Internship | |
Go to the Career Center first semester to beat the crowd when trying to find out about summer internships. A lot of students wait until second semester, and, by then, it is hard to make an appointment with an advisor. Take Technical Communications either your freshman or sophomore year. This course teaches you how to draft a resume and a cover letter. These documents are essential when applying for an internship. Use J-Connect, a job database run by the JHU Career Center, to search and apply for internships. Lastly, always go to the Career Fairs on campus and remember to wear business attire. These fairs are a great opportunity to pass out your resume and network with possible employers.
