They close the library at 11 making it hard to stay up late for all nighters.

I received a decent amount of grants and a couple scholarships. I definitely have no complaints regarding what I received. I was very blessed to receive as much as I did. My advice is to make sure you turn in all paperwork by the deadlines and keep in contact with your financial aid officer.

Basically any fast food option you would want is within a 5 minute or so drive, and there are almost always people going for you to go with.

There is a bus system that runs right next to campus but I don't think people use it very much. Still, its available and I think it connects to anywhere you would want to go in town, but more likely you'll just get rides from people if you don't have a car. A car isn't necessary though, as the campus from one far end to the other is only like a 10-15 minute walk tops.

Judson University does not let you live off campus unless you live with your parents less than 45 minutes away, are married, or are of 23 years of age.

Guys & Girls:
There are tons of different students at this school. Anywhere from jocks, to hipsters, to country boys and girls, to people who go out to people who are looking to stay in and study. There are both religious and non-religious males and females on my campus.

There is a bus route that comes by the school but it does not get utilized very much and does not come often. There is train station about 5 minutes down the road that offers great affordable round trips to Chicago.

Varsity sports at Judson University are huge. Almost every student at school is participating in a sport. We have an okay weight room. It is small and needs work. Our sports do pretty well. Student involvement in games is great! Many students, as well as many professors and faculty make an effort to attend the games and matches.

The academic scholarships are minimal, they tap out around 12,000 dollars and school is roughly 35,000. Meaning that the left overs are about the equivalent of an average state school. There is also no chance of increase the whole time you are there no matter how well you do.

There are about eight computer labs around Judson. They are all apple computers and have state of the art programs installed for students. Each student gets a certain amount of money each semester for printing, which is nice. The computer labs get a little crowded around midterms and finals, but other than that, there's usually always a computer open.

There are a TON of places to eat at near Judson. The Springhill mall is 10 minutes from campus. Plus there are places like tacobell, wendys, mcdonalds, burger king, jimmy johns, starbucks, chipotle, panda express, jamba juice, dunkin dounuts, olive garden, red lobster, the elgin public house, the village squire (which is a campus favorite. They have really good food there), another favorite is alexanders (they have amazing breakfast food, as well as great desserts).

Judson has a lot of places to hang out, Jerry's Café, the Library, The student center, the erie, the upper commons, a ton! Judson also a pretty good athletic building with a workout room, a track, a basketball court, a few indoor racketbll rooms, training rooms. HWAC (the place where the Library is located) also has an art gallery. They are always updating it, and they have really neat artwork featured there. There are also about four or five computer labs on campus. All with apple computers and state of the art computer programs for students. The music center (Thompson building) has a midi lab where music student can use the compters that are connected to pianos to write their own music, as well as record their pieces. The Thompson also has a theater where all the musical productions are performed. Judson has an improv group as well.

The caf food is alright. It has for sure improved a lot since I started there. They have a good salad bar, as well as fresh fruit at every meal. They also have a sandwich bar, and a fresh food bar, where they prepare the meal in front of you. The only other place to get food on campus is at the book store and Jerry's Café. They offer more snack like food though. There are a lot of food options right around campus: Taco Bell, wendys, burger king, mcdonalds, jimmy johns, jamba juice, starbucks, chipotle, etc.

It depends on where you live. Ohio, and Wilson, the freshman dorms are pretty cool. They don't have air conditioning, however, so that's the only downside. Lindner tower, the upperclassmen dorm is a pretty great place to live. Each room has a full bathroom that is in really good condition. Each floor also has a kitchen, a laundry room, a study room, and a lounge. Volkman, another upperclassmen dorm, is more apartment style, each room comes with its own bathroom and kitchen. It's on Volkman pond, and it looks beautiful in the evening.

Judson University is a wonderful school! The dorms and pretty great, and they're currently in the process of updating a lot of things in the dorms as well. The Library is awesome, and I believe it is the second most "green" or energy efficient building in the USA. The school just added in a coffee shop called "Jerry's Café". The coffee there is pretty good, and it's a nice place to hang out and chit-chat with others.. or avoid doing homework. Judson is located right next to a forest preserve, so it's a beautiful to go for a picnic, take a walk, or skip rocks in the creek.

I came to Judson University because of its christian views and superb graphic design program. On arrival there I have had an amazing time on campus and I have gotten along with all my professors. The workload I expected to be a challenge because they make sure everything is understood and that no students slack. I love the challenge and I also love the time the professors put into each student.

Elgin, IL is a huge Chicago suburb. It is the 8th largest city in Illinois. Since it is such a large city, it has many places to visit such as museums and beautiful parks. With Chicago being so close, you can ride a train and have quite literally unlimited options.

Overall, Judson is a dry campus. The reason for grading it with a "B-" is my freshman year (2 1/2 years ago), some people made pot brownies and pot cookies, which obviously caused a stir with some of the faculty and staff. It wasn't treated as that big of a deal, primarily because, I believe, the staff and faculty didn't know how to handle such a big deal at that moment in time.

Judson is the only Christian college in America with Architecture. That field (Art, Design, and Architecture) holds the most students in their program than any other field. Students who graduate out of those programs often go on to prestigious graduate schools and become amazing architects.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
