Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Ladies and gents at Juniata tend to subscribe to the “work hard, play hard” mantra. As a result, most know how to balance fun and study, though if the scale were to tip in one direction over another, it would probably be toward working on studying hard. Guys and girls alike tend to be intelligent, focused, fun, and easy-going. Socially, everyone’s pretty casual. You’ll have your share of pretty girls—and pretty boys, for that matter—but overall, everyone is laid-back when comes to anything from how you dress to who you hang out with on the weekends.

That said, people do have their friends and their niches, and for the singletons on campus it can often seem like too many Juniatians are already involved in a relationship—either with another person on campus or at another school, or even with their work. At the same time, you’ll find a good mix of types of relationships on campus. More people—especially girls—are probably looking for “the right one” as opposed to “the right one to spend the night with,” but if you look hard enough, you can have a relationship for a night or for a year, and you could probably find the right person for either. Likewise, campus events and traditions are either too wild or too tame, depending on who you talk to. Odds are, if you’re comfortable with yourself, you’ll find your niche and probably find what you’re looking for because there’s a bit of everything here.

Not Just About the Appearance, but More About What's Inside.

Not only are the people at this college classy in style, they have a lot to offer with their personality. Not only are the people good looking but they have a lot of confidence, and that helps to make their appearance much more attractive than many girls/guys from other schools.

Limited Choices but Friendly People

Since Juniata is a small school, your choices can be limited. Everyone knows one another and is super friendly; however, I do wish there were more choices in the opposite sex sometimes.

Students

Students look like students. There is nothing fancy about them. They are all into different things and are quiet loud and friendly. There are a lot of interacting among people and everyone knows everyone.

Facts

Social Scene

Juniata students are known for being exceptionally friendly and outgoing. It's a small campus in a small town, so between classes, dorms, activities, and the dining hall, you'll learn names, faces, or both, pretty quickly. Student organizations are very active, and the individualized majors cause academic mixing as well as social. At the same time, cliques do develop, they just tend not to be as noticeable. After the typical time to get adjusted, students usually find their niche pretty quickly.

Hookups or Relationships?

The dating scene varies as much as the students do, but is nothing out of the ordinary. Students hook up, get serious, break up, and then life goes on. There are also plenty of people who are serious with students from other colleges, and there is a nice number of happily independent singletons, too.

Best Places to Meet Guys/Girls

Again, because of the small campus and population, it’s hard not to get to know people you see all the time. Juniata’s campus is loaded with all sorts of different people with different tastes, loves, and interests, and most students are really very friendly. If you want to meet someone, get involved in clubs and organizations you love, go to parties, and if you’re over 21, head to the bar. Maybe even give those time-fillers known as your classes a shot. Odds are, somewhere in there you’ll find someone just as delightfully strange or oddly enjoyable as you are. Strike up a conversation, don’t be a stalker, and you never know what can happen.

Dress Code

Juniata students are pretty relaxed when it comes to what they wear. You'll find as many who dress up as dress down, and you'll find plenty of people with their own sense of style, meaning you can pretty much wear whatever you want without raising much of an eyebrow—unless you want to.
